Twelfth Night’s Feste by Voytek

For my second to last project for university, I chose to interpret a design for Feste from Twelfth Night, the original illustration left much open to me as to which features to highlight, or incorporate into the costume. I found that this gave me a brilliant opportunity to experiment with texture, print, embroidery and embellishment to capture the playfulness of Feste, tying in motifs of trickery, the link to the character of Malvolio through the cross garters and the theatrical history of the role of the fool.
